Graduation
Graduation
A token graduates when the amount raised by its curve reaches the graduation threshold. The buy that crosses the line triggers it, and nobody has to press anything. A fixed 28.4% of the supply is held back from the start and becomes the pool's token side, so every launch graduates into a pool of the same shape.
What happens
- The raised ETH and 20.36% of the supply are paired into a Uniswap v4 pool that opens at the curve's last price, so nobody can buy the graduation cheaper than the last curve buyer did.
- The rest of the held-back supply, 8.09%, is locked in the same locker for good. It never trades and nobody can take it out, the team included.
- The pool position is sent to a locker contract. The locker has no function to withdraw it, so the liquidity stays for good.
- The curve closes and trading continues in the pool. A hook on the pool takes the same 1% fee with the same split: creator, KOLs, burn and treasury. Creators claim it the same way.
If the pool cannot be created: retry, then rescue
Creating the pool can fail, for example when a stock token used as the pair is paused by its issuer. The curve then stops trading at the threshold and waits. Anyone can retry graduation from the token page at any time. If it is still not possible 7 days after the threshold was reached, every holder can rescue: hand their tokens back to the curve for their share of everything it raised. Nobody, including the team, can take that money; the rescue is the only way out besides graduating.
